Jacki Fletcher commits to Univ. of Illinois-Chicago
    Sparks 18-under pitcher/second baseman Jacki Fletcher (Lowell HS 2010) has made a verbal commitment to attend the University of Illinois-Chicago and play for former Olympian and Spark standout Michelle Venturella. Fletcher helped lead the Sparks 16-under to back-to-back ASA Nationals appearances and recently led her high school squad to the Indiana Final Four.
    Fletcher is the second 2010 Spark athlete (Jenna Mychko) to commit to college, while all six 2009 players have made college commitments.

Sparks 16-under fourth team to earn ASA Nationals bid

   The Orland Park Sparks 16-under avenged an earlier bracket loss with a 3-0 decision over the Louisville Sluggers on June 21 to earn second place in the Kentucky Qualifier and earn a berth to the ASA Nationals on July 27-Aug. 2 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
   The 16-under squad joins previous Sparks' national qualifiers 18-under (Las Vegas), 14-under Red (Marietta, Ga.) and 10-under (Johnson City, Tenn.).

Sparks turn in pair of Top 25 finishes at 2008 ASA Nationals
   
Youth was served in August, at the Sparks 10-under turned in a 17th Place finish at the ASA National Tournament in Bloomington, Ind. Meanwhile, the Sparks 14-under Red captured a 25th place finish at ASA Nationals in Midland, Texas.
    All six Sparks squads successfully qualified for ASA National Tournaments in 2008.
