Sparks' 18-under standouts Rogers, Kouchis make college choices
A pair of Sparks' 18-under athletes made college commitments during the November early-signing period, as Ashley Rogers (Mother McAuley) will continue her career at Loyola University and Karissa Kouchis (Sandburg) will move on to Western Illinois University as a student-athlete.
Rogers, a standout pitcher, and Kouchis, an outfielder-catcher, have helped lead the Sparks 18-under and 16-under squads to ASA National tourneys in recent years.
All six Sparks teams earn berths to ASA National Tournaments
The Orland Park Sparks 16-under captured fourth place in the ASA Chicago Metro Tourney on July 15-17 to earn a berth to the ASA Nationals in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The 16-under squad joins the Sparks' 18-under, 14-under Black, 14-under Red, 12-under and 10-under as ASA national qualifiers for the 2011 season.
